AuScope CORS Project
B&R Enclosures collaborated with the AuScope program to provide secure, long-life enclosure solutions for Australia’s network of Global Navigational Satellite System Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS). These stations support a wide range of scientific and practical applications, including crustal movement monitoring, sea level analysis, atmospheric modelling and precision navigation.
Given that each CORS site is expected to operate for a minimum of 20 years, uninterrupted data collection and long-term system security are essential. Enclosures must withstand harsh environmental conditions while protecting sensitive equipment vital to maintaining national coordinate datum and supporting scientific research.
To meet these requirements, B&R supplied Field FC enclosures built to the project specification. Their robust construction and security features were key factors in the selection, ensuring durability, reliability and protection throughout the station’s operational life.
Working closely with the customer, B&R delivered a solution tailored to the diverse environments in which the stations are installed, helping to ensure continuous performance across the national CORS network.
