Streamlining Operations at Tallowa Dam

The Tallowa Dam project aimed to improve the health of the Shoalhaven River through controlled environmental flow releases and to support native fish migration with an automated fish passage, trap, and elevator. Valued at approximately $28 million, the project demanded high-quality, reliable electrical enclosures to ensure safe and efficient operation in a challenging environment.

B&R Enclosures was selected as a key partner due to our proven capability to deliver robust, tailored solutions across diverse applications. Our team supplied a range of enclosures designed to meet the specific needs of the project, including viewing windows for operators to monitor internal displays and integrate multiple control systems seamlessly.

Signature SE enclosures served as the main control boards, while Universal NI and Monarch IP stainless enclosures housed hydrostatic level transmitters, valve controllers, level monitors, and pit tag readers. Connector TE enclosures were deployed for lighting junction boxes along stairways, completing a comprehensive and cohesive solution.

B&R’s value-added approach went beyond supplying enclosures. By fitting and integrating components within the cabinets, we streamlined installation, improved operational efficiency, and ensured long-term reliability in a demanding environment. From design to delivery, B&R provided a complete, single-source solution that enabled the Tallowa Dam project to meet its operational and environmental goals.
