AMC Oil and Gas: Partnering for Performance
AMC, now operating as part of Imdex, has long been recognised as a global leader in drilling fluids, treating chemicals, and engineered solutions for the energy and resources sectors. With decades of expertise, the AMC brand became synonymous with innovation, quality, and reliability — supporting oil, gas, and geothermal operations worldwide.
As part of Imdex, the AMC product range continues to deliver exceptional value, supported by advanced technology, technical expertise, and a strong commitment to customer-driven innovation.
In large-scale drilling operations, managing drilling fluids safely and efficiently is critical to maintaining productivity and protecting well integrity. AMC was tasked with providing a reliable mobile fluid management solution that could perform under demanding field conditions — integrating with existing rig systems and ensuring consistent mud quality throughout drilling operations.
To meet these operational challenges, AMC engineered a mobile fluid management system, often referred to as a Frac tank system. Designed for mobility and durability, the system allowed operators to transport, mix, and store drilling fluids seamlessly on site. Integrated pumps and agitators maintained mud consistency, preventing settling and ensuring optimal performance during drilling.
For the electrical and control components, AMC collaborated with B&R Enclosures, a trusted supplier of hazardous area solutions. B&R provided certified enclosures designed to safely house the electrical connections for pumps and agitators, ensuring the equipment could operate reliably in hazardous environments and comply with strict industry standards.
The collaboration between AMC and B&R Enclosures highlighted the importance of reliability and responsiveness in modern supply chains. With projects often requiring short turnaround times, B&R’s ability to deliver high-quality, compliant solutions within tight deadlines proved essential.
As Ian Matthews, AMC’s Field and Workshop Electrician, explained:
“Delivery time is becoming a key driver in our decision to choose suppliers, as our customers are reducing their delivery windows. This marks a shift where reliability and responsiveness define value more than price alone.”
The partnership resulted in a robust, safe, and efficient system that improved on-site fluid management and supported continuous drilling operations. Today, the legacy of this collaboration lives on within Imdex’s broader portfolio, where AMC’s proven technologies and solutions continue to enhance performance across global drilling projects.
