Signature Switchboards Power Expansion at Northparkes Operations

Ampcontrol RES engaged JA Martin Electrical to design and construct a 1000V power distribution switchboard for the Northparkes Operation, a well-established copper-gold mine in central west New South Wales. The switchboard was required to supply power to drilling machines and loading equipment.

The specification called for a switchboard that was:

• Type tested to AS 3439.1

• Skid mountable

• Designed for an insulation voltage of 1000V

• Easily extendible for future expansion

• Modular in design for maximum versatility

• Australian made

JA Martin Electrical regularly uses B&R’s Signature SE switchboards and recognised that this modular, type-tested system met all requirements for the Northparkes project.

Working together, JA Martin Electrical and Ampcontrol RES delivered the project on time and within budget, achieving full satisfaction from the Northparkes management team. The Signature SE modular switchboard system is now being considered for future expansions at the site.
