Powering Australia’s Clean Energy Future: B&R Supports HyP Murray Valley
Hydrogen Park Murray Valley (HyP Murray Valley) is a flagship renewable gas project led by the Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) in partnership with the Australian and Victorian Governments. The facility, currently under construction in Wodonga, Victoria, will produce renewable hydrogen using a 10 MW electrolyser powered by renewable electricity. This hydrogen will be blended into the local gas distribution network, servicing approximately 40,000 residential, commercial, and industrial connections.
B&R was engaged by Howden Engineering, a key delivery partner for the project, to supply a tailored control panel and soft starter solution. The request was for a supplier that could deliver Australian Standards compliant electrical panels and work in step with a project that was still evolving in design and scope.
The project required a supplier with proven Australian Electrical standards compliance, flexibility to manage ongoing design changes, and the capacity to meet a tight delivery window aligned with construction and commissioning timelines.
As the system design developed, the panel layout, technical requirements, and specifications were revised several times. These changes necessitated ongoing engagement, updates to our original budgetary submission, and responsiveness to technical feedback.
As a proudly Australian company with decades of experience and proven technical expertise, we offered local knowledge, responsive support, and full compliance — key factors that gave the client confidence in our capability.
We successfully delivered:
- 2 x fully wired and tested PLC panels
- 2 x soft starters, pre-configured and integrated per client specifications
The panels were shipped on time, fully compliant, and ready for integration into the hydrogen production system. Our ability to adapt to shifting design requirements and still meet tight deadlines contributed to keeping the project on schedule.
This project highlights B&R’s role as a reliable delivery partner in Australia’s clean energy transition – capable, compliant, and committed to getting it right.
