Powering Padstow Gardens: Delivering a Reliable Switchboard Solution for a Growing Residential Community

When the Padstow Gardens residential development in Eight Mile Plains was under construction, D&L Williamson was engaged to complete the full electrical installation across its 18 townhouses. With construction timelines in place and staged occupancy planned, the team required a dependable, compliant, and efficient switchboard solution that could be delivered on schedule.

To support the development’s layout and metering requirements, D&L needed two main switchboards: one capable of housing CT metering and private metering for half of the townhouses, and a second positioned elsewhere in the complex for the remaining residences. As the primary switchboard was installed outdoors, an IP66 rating was essential to ensure complete protection against dust and water.

B&R supplied an Infinity 3G modular switchboard, sourced through CNW Electrical Wholesale and Energy Solutions in Geebung. Designed for commercial and residential installations up to 630Amps, the Infinity 3G was well suited to the project’s electrical demands, which fell comfortably within the range. The Primo series, with its robust IP66 rating, was selected to ensure long-term durability and compliance for exposed outdoor conditions.

B&R’s Brisbane-based manufacturing and value-add facility handled the full design, metalwork assembly, and customisation before handing the switchboard over to D&L for final wiring and installation. This collaborative workflow reduced lead times and helped D&L keep the project on track while delivering a high-quality solution for their client.

Once delivered to site, installation progressed smoothly, contributing to the staged rollout of services across the development.
