Form to calculate temperature rise based on input conditions.
Enclosure drawing shows the “working area” of the enclosure only and does not show the sloping roof.
Calculations for sloping roof enclosures are approximate only.
Air outlet is smaller than the air inlet. It should be the same size or bigger.
Note that this calculation takes no account of enclosure installation location, orientation, position or exact colour. Detailed calculation of temperature rise due to the effects of the sun on particular enclosures or colours is beyond the scope of this application.

The maximum allowable temperature inside and enclosure is dependent on the equipment within the enclosure. Every piece of equipment (like a circuit breaker, battery, or electronic component) has a maximum ambient temperature that it can safely handle. This information is usually provided by the manufacturer in the equipment’s manual or datasheet as the ‘operating temperature range’ or ‘ambient air temperature for operation’.
The maximum temperature in your enclosure is °C.
Typical maximum ambient operating temperatures for continuous operation:
Always check the manufacturer’s documentation for your specific equipment.
The temperature inside the enclosure is typically reduced using one or more of the following methods.
